Call for Applications for New Board Members NALACS
NALACS, the Netherlands Association for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, is an association for everyone in the Netherlands who is interested in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its mission is to promote insight and debate on issues related to the region in the Netherlands. NALACS is a membership organization and its members include senior researchers, PhD candidates and students, as well as journalists, public officials and NGO staff. NALACS has an important network function, connecting Latin Americanists and Caribbeanists in the Netherlands to each other and to colleagues in surrounding countries. The board meets at least 7 times a year.
NALACS is looking for new enthusiastic board members for the term starting in July 2019. The current NALACS board consists of seven members, each elected for a three-year term, and four of them will step down this summer.
Because of the four positions that will become vacant, we are especially looking for Latin Americanists and Caribbeanists who have:
– social media or PR skills and/or;
– professional experience in the Caribbean and/or;
– working for an NGO, a news medium or at the ministry of foreign affairs and/or;
– experience with financial control and budgeting.
